The Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage celebrates the history of the wave of immigration at the end of the 19th century that brought Russian Jewish settlers to the area known as Woodbine to be developed as an agricultural colony under the auspices ofthe Baron de Hirsch Fund. Housed in the historical Brotherhood Synagogue the Museum\'s Mission Statement is focused on hate and prejudice reduction and education. Designated as the Cape May County Teaching Center for the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education the Museum provides both onsite and in-classroom programming to students from 5th through 12th grades. Students are encouraged to learn about the past exchange ideas in the present and work towards a harmonious future.
From its beginning Woodbine remains as a living example of the values and ideals of its founders.
