Shrimp Toast

  • Complexity: very easy


  • 6 English Muffins slit
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger: grated
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 ounce minced water chestnuts: minced
  • 1 pound cooked small shrimp 60-70 count or; or 2 cans baby shrimp (tuna fish sized cans)


  1. Lightly toast the muffins on the top side only using a broiler on high and laying muffins ½ sides on a sheet pan. Broil 2-3 minutes or until just lightly toasted.

  2. Combine remaining ingredients in a food processor and pulse until everything is just combined. There should be some texture to the shrimp and water chestnut.

  3. Spread liberally on English muffins ½ side and set broiler to low.
