Lemon Mint Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 to 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried mint, crushed
  • zest of 1/2 lemon


  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar and simmer over medium heat until the sugar melts.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in the mint.

  3. Cover and infuse for 30 minutes.

  4. Strain and add the lemon zest.

  5. Place in a bottle and store in the refrigerator.

  6. Use as a flavoring in beverages or pour over a piece of pound cake.
