French Toast

  • 1 loaf slightly stale unsliced bread (Cinnamon bread and brioche make great French toast)
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Mix all ingredients together well with a whisk or a fork.

  2. Dip ¾” thick slices of bread in the mixture and allow the egg to soak into the bread a little, and then place in a heavy grill pan heated to medium with a good chunk of butter.

  3. Let cook for 2 minutes on both sides and serve with powdered sugar or pure maple syrup.
