Bread and Butter Pudding

  • Complexity: very easy


  • 2 ¼ cups milk (or half & half)
  • ½ cup sugar fine (castor) sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup sultanas (golden raisins) regular raisins or dried cranberries
  • 4 slices bread (any day old thick slice bread)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Butter one side of the bread and cut each slice in 4.

  2. Place all ingredients except bread into the crock pot, whisk until combined.

  3. Arrange bread on top, butter side up, allow slices to overlap. Push slices under milk mixture, so they soak some up.

  4. Cook on low for 8 hours.
