Cape May County Library Commission will hold its monthly meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:30pm in the Board Room of the Cape May County Library in Cape May Court House, NJ. All meetings are open to the public. The dates for scheduled meetings for the 2013 are as follows: January 16, February 20, March 20, April, 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21, September 18, October 16, November 20, and December 18.

The roots of the Library can be traced back to 1923, when Sarah Askew, Secretary of the State Public Library Commission, made frequent visits to Cape May County to enlist influential support for a free county library. Her efforts proved successful, and the Cape May County Free Library was established by referendum in November 1924.

The role of the Cape May County Library is to provide informational and recreational materials, services, and programs that will enrich the lives of the people of Cape May County To this end, the Library operates eight branch libraries and a bookmobile service with stops throughout the County. Telephone and in-person reference services are also available. The Library has books, audio books, DVDs, video games, music CDs and eBooks. The Library offers Internet access at all branch locations. A wide variety of online databases and Microsoft Office applications are available in the Library and online through our Library web page.
