Memoir Workshops

Memoir Workshops
We all have stories. This workshop is about crafting those stories to create memoirs that are worth reading. Adventures and achievements are great topics; however, some students have created wonderful stories about a family trip or an autumn walk home from school. Sometimes the simple moments linger longest. This is a slightly different memoir class. For those who are willing, it will be geared for publication or sharing of our work. Since we each have different life stories our topics will vary but the class will not.

Each week we will have a little instruction in the writing process and then a good bit of sharing and feedback on our writing. We will work in small groups so that each student will be able to share a piece of writing each week.

Jim Talone is an award winning teacher with 45 years of experience teaching writing in middle school, high school, college, and adult education. Since his retirement he has been writing personal and historical documentary films. For the last four years his films have been featured at the Cape May Film Festival.

Date: every Thursday
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Stone Harbor Library
No registration necessary.
